About me

I work especially well with action-oriented, goal-directed people who know something feels off but aren’t quite sure how to change it. Own a business or live the entrepreneurial lifestyle? I get the pressure that comes with keeping both your work and personal life functioning without running yourself into the ground. If you’re ready to level up your thinking, boundaries, relationships, or productivity, you’re in the right place. Think you may be dealing with narcissistic behavior at home or at work? We can sort through what’s happening, figure out what’s actually in your control, and build a strategy—whether that means navigating the situation more effectively or making a graceful exit. You have options. Real life usually needs more than a few social-media therapy tips and a catchy quote. Let’s get cooking. :)

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together we'll laugh at least once. That's my hope anyway. We'll spend the time getting to know each other in a relaxed, casual way that is more about curiosity on my part rather than cold, clinical examination. We'll talk about what you want to get out of therapy, how you see yourself being different as a result of therapy, and what your life looks life as a result. That's goal-setting we can hang our hat on!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength as a provider is that I am not going to keep you in therapy forever, and I am going to be a straight shooter with you. I'm a no BS, no-nonsense professional who will call you out when you need it, tell you about yourself when you need to hear it. I won't candy-coat my comments. And. I do it in a way that is useful and beneficial. Most therapists want to give good therapy. I want RESULTS. Whether it's therapy for a reason or a season, I'm highly invested in helping you achieve your highest good. Bring your A-game and let's get started.

My treatment methods

Biofeedback

Biofeedback is connecting the brain and body for better mental health -- it's everything from apps on your phone to yoga and meditation. We'll explore some different modalities in order to find one that you like and can help you outside of our sessions. Sounds kooky but it works. And 10% better is helpful on every day that ends in "y."

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is simply thinking about your thinking, let's not get too complicated!! We'll explore how your thoughts manifest from your feelings, and get them more under control. We'll reframe the negative thoughts and take you out of the rabbit holes of negativity. CBT for the win!

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is just a fancy word for "what does the research say." When it comes to understanding mental health conditions, a lot of times we look at the research to determine causes and effects. I point to the research often in my sessions, because the research matters when we look at treatment outcomes. And, reading outside of session is helpful. Something besides Metallica on the way into work can lesson the odds of rage-quitting by 11:37 a.m.

Reality Therapy

Reality therapy is all about choice and responsibility for your actions. When dealing with life challenges, reality therapy helps us move into action rather than worry, obsess, or ruminate over what "could be." Yes, sis, you are in this place because of your choices. Let's get you to see a way out with intentional (new) skills that result in creating new choices for yourself.

Integrative

Most every therapist is integrative to some degree, which just means that we use a variety of approaches when it comes to working with clients. I also do motivational interviewing, radical acceptance, mindfulness and parts theory in my practice, if it seems like these approaches would be helpful for you. We're all different so I like to take you up and down the buffet line to see what you respond to, best.
