Have you reached a point in your life where you feel like “enough is enough” and something in your life needs to change? When experiencing difficult emotions or life-changing transitions it can be overwhelming to process them alone. I am Maneka Cooper, LCSW passionate about assisting individuals in their journey to navigate and process the pain, trauma and disappointments that can lead to negative habits or patterns, unrealized potential and generally feeling unfulfilled. I am here to help you pick up and carry on when you don’t feel able. I provide a safe space for you to be yourself until you feel strong enough to make whatever changes you need to make. I value client autonomy and collaboration. I place value on the strengths and resources you already have to help you heal and grow. I utilize an evidenced- based integrative approach to assist each individual, allowing them to feel seen, heard and valued in their unique circumstances. You did a thing! Congratulate yourself for taking the first step, this is usually the toughest! Thank you for your motivation to change! I am honored and look forward to being a part of your journey.
In our first session together, you can expect a dialogue, about yourself and your unique life experience, challenges, strengths and things that make you, you. There's usually a discussion about "Why now?" and previous therapy experience, if any. I like to know what worked well and what did not serve you. You can expect a safe space and a listening ear. An opportunity to ask questions and to become aligned with how we will work collaboratively together to reach your goals. I take this time to peak inside of what your world is like and to offer clarity about myself and my work.
I utilize an integrative approach including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, solution focused and mindfulness techniques as some of the means to help my clients reach their mental health goals. I believe everyone has a unique background and path that they are on in life and deserve treatment methods that reflect their individuality.
My biggest areas of strength are anxiety, depression, life transitions and boundary work.
I love working with individuals who are open-minded, do not mind being challenged (in a positive way), and are at a place where they are ready to put in the work and passionate about seeing and being the change.

For your ‘what stands out’ question— you should add more options and let people choose more than just two of them. Because I REALLY had a hard time limiting the things that stand out about Maneka— to just two things. I think she is awesome and she is the perfect therapist for me!! She is intelligent, open minded, authentic, funny, warm, empowering, challenging, inspiring and supportive— just to name a few. Maneka continually guides and supports me in my journey to becoming my best self!!

I am so very fortunate Ms. Cooper is my therapist. I am able to see in myself a change for the better. I am less stressed, more altruistic and I am able to make better decisions in my professional and personal life. She helps me understand myself better, and my anxiety and depression levels are significantly lower than when I started therapy. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and motivational skills are exemplary. Thank you Ms. Cooper!

Maneka is knowledgeable I would say expertise, she loves her job, she is creative, thinks outside the box and easily understandable. She gave me a sense of calamity, she understands how I feel and offers solutions. With Maneka's expertise I have begun to gain a better understanding of Narcissist, co-parenting and self esteem. Looking forward to many more sessions with her.
