New to Grow
Hi! I’m Shannon, a therapist and fellow mom who specializes in women’s and maternal mental health. I support women navigating pregnancy, infertility, postpartum anxiety and depression, identity shifts, and the mental load of motherhood. You can love your baby deeply and still feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unlike yourself and that doesn’t make you a bad mom. Alongside my work in maternal mental health, I also support women navigating life changes and transitions that shape who they are. This may include relationship changes or breakups, healing from trauma, anxiety about the future, depression, or rediscovering yourself during times when you feel lost or disconnected. My work focuses on helping women slow down, reconnect with their nervous systems, and become more in tune with their bodies so they can feel more grounded, confident, and whole.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we’ll slow down and create space to talk about what this season of life has been like for you. We’ll review your mental health history, current concerns, and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy. Because my work focuses on women’s mental health, we may explore experiences related to reproductive health, pregnancy or postpartum, hormonal changes, identity shifts, relationships, and the emotional load many women carry. If motherhood is part of your story, we can also talk about your pregnancy or reproductive history, your baby’s temperament or feeding experiences, and the support systems in your life so I can better understand your journey.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My approach to women’s health is rooted in the understanding that women move through many seasons of life, each bringing its own challenges, questions, and opportunities for growth and self-discovery. I approach therapy with the perspective of someone who understands the emotional transitions many women experience. Whether that is navigating life after college and trying to find your path, or becoming a new mom and facing the self-doubt and insecurity that can come with early motherhood. My work focuses on helping women slow down, reconnect with their nervous systems, and become more in tune with their bodies so they can feel more grounded, confident, and whole. I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies to help clients better understand their thoughts, regulate emotions, and build practical coping tools. Together, we reconnect with what matters most to you in this season of your life. I also recognize the realities of parenting young children, so babies and noises of motherhood are always welcome in session. If you need to feed, rock your baby, or have Ms. Rachel playing in the background, that’s completely okay here. Motherhood was never meant to be navigated alone, and you deserve support in this season too.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is a woman navigating a season of change in her life or health. She may be adjusting to experiences such as fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood, relationship changes, or other shifts in identity and responsibilities that can feel emotionally overwhelming. Many of the women I work with are managing anxiety, stress, or the mental load of caring for others while trying to stay connected to themselves. I provide a supportive space where clients can slow down, process what they are experiencing, and build practical tools to feel more grounded, confident, and aligned with what matters most to them.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps address mood and anxiety challenges that can arise throughout different stages of women’s health and life transitions. In my work, I use CBT to help clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns, develop more supportive ways of responding to stress, and build practical coping skills to manage anxiety, mood changes, and the emotional demands that can come with different seasons of life.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness-based therapy helps clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without judgment, which can reduce feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, and emotional reactivity. In practice, I use mindfulness skills such as grounding, breath awareness, and present-moment focus to help clients calm their nervous systems, manage racing thoughts, and feel more emotionally balanced during life transitions and different seasons of women’s health.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps clients learn how to make space for difficult thoughts and emotions such as anxiety, guilt, or self-doubt. Without, feeling controlled by them. This approach supports clients in reconnecting with their personal values and taking meaningful steps toward living in alignment with the kind of person they want to be during different life transitions.
