About me

My name is Marc Genson and I have been a counselor for over 15 years. Counseling is a passion of mine as this alllows a client to really learn about themselves and who they are and want to become. You are taking a brave step to seek help and I am happy to help you along your journey. We all have something we want to change and I am here to help with that. We have all made mistakes in our past but it vital to know we can learn from these mistakes. I am here to help correct these mistakes moving forward through improved cognition, awareness and decision making via CBT, ACT and DBT techniques. I know how important my job is and I want my clients to know I will be there to listen, support and guide but not tell them how to live their lives. I welcome the chance to help a new client become the best version of themselves.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients will be heard and listened to so we can figure out the next step for you.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I utilize many different techniques including: Cognitive restructuring, problem solving, mindfulness based cognitive therapy, unraveling cognitive distortions, working to let go of control and reducing blaming of self and others, emotional reasoing and feeling the need to always be right. I tailor each approach to the individual clients needs and well-being.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I feel my biggest strengths are understanding and listening to a client's needs. I want a client to know I am here to help you and listen to but never tell you what to do or how to feel. I also believe that my strengths are working to find long term solutions to problems and not short term fixes that are not sustainable.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I want to work with clients who want to be the best version of themselves and aren't afraid of making mistakes.
