Hi! I’m Amita, a therapist with over 25 years of experience helping individuals and couples to let go of patterns of behavior that are not helping them and showing new ways of thinking that help them achieve their goals. It's my ability to utilize Eastern Philosophy with Western Education to help my clients transform their lives. In addition to being a Couples Therapist trained in the Gottman Method Level III, (which I do not accept insurance for) I also provided trauma, depression and anxiety counseling using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), ACT, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Releasing Exercise (TRE), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). I also provide continuing education training for therapist and lead women's retreats.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will focus on getting to know each other and beginning to build a comfortable, trusting relationship. During this time, I will explain what therapy is—and what it is not—so you have a clear understanding of the process. We will also review important details such as confidentiality, office policies, and scheduling or cancellation guidelines. If time allows, I may begin gathering some background information, including your personal history, childhood experiences, and family dynamics, to better understand your story. This initial meeting is a gentle starting point, and we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have an easy style of relating with people, from a down to earth and pragmatic standpoint. I recognize your inner strengths and shine a light on them, so you are also able to tap into them to improve your life. Just as importantly, I am solution focused so we're always working towards creating that deep inner transformation. I specialize in helping individual, and couples in getting the most out of life, and I have over 25 years experience in teaching, coaching and counseling.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Highly motivated for change. Highly successful yet stressed and has self doubt. Struggles with interpersonal relationships. Possibly neurodivergent. Wants to challenge self to be better and get to the next level. Between the ages of 30 and 45. But I also like working with older adults who want to continue to change, grow and develop. Seeking or at least open to the intersection of psychology and spirituality.
