Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will take time to get to know each other in a low-pressure, safe and supportive space. I’ll ask some questions to better understand what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and a bit about your background. You are always are in control of what you choose to share. The goal is for you to feel heard and supported, and to begin building a sense of safety and trust in our work together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen and heard. I bring deep empathy, attuned listening , and a calm, grounded presence to each session. I’m skilled at helping clients untangle complex emotions, gain clarity, and build practical tools for change, while honoring their unique pace and lived experience.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work well with adults who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm, and are ready to make meaningful changes. Many of my clients are navigating relationship challenges, whether as individuals, couples or within family systems, and are seeking deeper connection, clarity and peace. If you’re looking for a supportive space to feel understood and move forward, I’m here to help guide that process with empathy and insight.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. This approach focuses on identifying unhelpful thought patterns and developing practical strategies to shift them, leading to meaningful changes in emotional well-being and daily functioning. Together, we work to build, self-awareness, develop, healthier, coping skills, and create lasting, positive change

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I use emotionally, focused therapy to help clients deepen their understanding of emotional experiences and strengthen their relationships. This approach focuses on identifying patterns that may be causing disconnection or distress, and works to create secure, supportive, emotional bonds. Whether working with individuals or couples, emotionally focused therapy helps build greater emotional awareness, improve communication, and foster more authentic, connected relationships.

Family Therapy

in my practice, I use family therapy to support, healthier, communications, stronger connections, and improved problem-solving within the family system. This approach looks at how each member influences and is affected by the others, helping families understand patterns that may be creating tension or disconnection. Together, we work to create a more supportive, respectful, and collaborative environment where each person feels heard and valued.

Couples Counseling

I use couples counseling to help partners strengthen their connection, improve communication, and navigate challenges together. My approach focuses on creating a safe space where both individuals feel heard, respected and understood. We work together to identify unhelpful patterns, build emotional, intimacy, and develop healthier ways of relating that support a more fulfilling and resilient relationship

Grief Therapy

I integrate grief therapy to support clients as they navigate the complex emotions that come with loss. Whether the loss is recent or long-standing, I provide a safe nonjudgmental space to process pain, find meaning and rebuild a sense of connection and hope. My approach is tailored to each individual’s unique experience, honoring their pace and personal story throughout the healing journey.

After not talking to her for a while, I was able to bring her up to speed on the events that I had experienced recently. She is always so supportive. I am back to write on the Sunrise Manifesto she recommended to me.

She started listening to me when I traveled to attend my sister's funeral. I could see she really cares and paid attention to what I said. She encouraged me to travel back with positive remarks, but airplanes give me a hard time due to my claustrophobia. Some coping skills provided were amazing. Today, I am physically exhausted. Chatting with her gives me hope that I will be able to be me without taking prescribed anxiety medication. I am buying the Sunrise Manifesto for the journaling homework.

She’s very understanding and caring. Maria just understands the trauma one endures and knows how to cope with it better in different way when relationships with a loved one just seem to start drifting apart. I’m glad I got to talk with her because opening up about shameful things that one really doesn’t want to discuss can be hard and she knows how to make it easy. 10/10
