Hi! I'm a Jamaican Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in both New York and Georgia. I received my Masters from the University at Albany (SUNY) and have been practicing over 9 years. I am also a Boy mom. I work with adults (18+) on an individual basis who are dealing with depression, anxiety, adjustment, and stress-related disorders. I take a holistic approach utilizing my background in Medical Social Work to address Medical Comorbidities that may impact a person's emotional and mental well-being.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with adults over the past 10 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
I work with adults (18+) dealing with depression, anxiety, adjustment, and stress-related disorders, and I’m here to help. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their next steps in life. My approach is focused on creating a supportive, judgment-free space where you can openly explore your feelings and develop tools to better manage symptoms. My goal is to empower you to improve your overall well-being and resilience when faced with life’s stressors.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to help clients identify and reframe negative thought patterns that impact their well-being. I provide a supportive, judgment-free space where clients can openly express themselves and work towards positive change.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
When utilizing a person-centered treatment approach, I focus on creating a supportive and empathetic environment that empowers clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. Using unconditional positive regard, active listening, and collaboration to help clients tap into their inner strengths and make meaningful progress toward their goals.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
When utilizing a cognitive processing approach, I walk through present and passed experiences with my client to breakdown the thought process and actions taken, which speak to potential patterns of behavior and suggest adjustments meanwhile, providing psychoeducation to the implications of behavior. The goal was cognitive processing therapy is to help the client understand some of the automatic responses or implications of behaviors that may be problematic within aspects of their life.

Sometimes you have to search around for this type of care. It's deeply personal to be (willing) to unmask. And I believe I am in good care.

Im really looking froward to my sessions in the future. Michelle was very warm and easy to talk to.
