Do you feel stuck and overwhelmed with trying to move on from the past? When we've experienced toxic relationships, abuse, or trauma, life can feel chaotic and even lost at times. My name is Joline, I am happy to be connected with you! I specialize in helping individuals get unstuck after relational trauma and experience wholeness. As a therapist, I strive to provide a nurturing space for you to heal and grow. My clients describe me as warm, sweet, but also direct, and will challenge you in a loving and non-judgmental way. My therapeutic approach incorporates Somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems, embodiment practices, attachment based therapy, and depth psychology. I believe that we are each inherently capable of healing and connecting to our own inner wisdom; my job is to provide support, tools, and facilitate healing/insights. I am a first generation immigrant from Taiwan, remarried mother of two boys with personal experiences with PTSD, codependency, and DV. In my free time I enjoy exploring/traveling, dancing, and sampling different cute coffee shops.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

With intake forms already completed before first session, when I meet with you we will go over basic background information and history for me to gain understanding of your individual needs. We may explore whether if we are a good fit to continue individual sessions, and collaborate to identify what your treatment goals might be and your specific preferences.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I've had years of experiences working with severe mental health clients, complex-PTSD, also the unique experiences of veterans/first responders. With the more "bottom-up" approach of somatic therapy different from traditional talk therapy's "top-down" approach, I help to address your nervous system and subconscious patterns to experience change in real-time. In many circumstances, knowledge and insight doesn't automatically lead to change and transformations, that's because there's a disconnect between what we consciously know & desire and what we subconsciously need. With my help we may uncover it together for you to finally be free from effects of trauma.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have experiences working with different ages and various backgrounds, but I especially love working with relational trauma, including recovery from past abuse, breakups, domestic violence, toxic relationships, and shame/self-esteem issues. It's very common to experience stress, overwhelm, sadness, anxiety, depression, and also PTSD when we've gone through difficult things, but with my help in therapy my goal is to support you in getting unstuck, feeling free, alive ,and whole again instead of just surviving.

My treatment methods

Somatic

Unlike traditional talk therapy "top-down" approach, somatic therapy is more of a "bottom-up" modality deliver deeper and more sustainable changes. I am trained in Somatic Attachment Therapy and Sensorimotor Therapy, both of these somatic approach works with your nervous system to integrate past attachment ruptures and past traumas to help you experience healing in real-time and more wholeness/aliveness.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a powerful, non-pathologizing framework that views the human psyche as a system of sub-personalities, or "parts," capable of healing when led by the core "Self." When applying this to trauma therapy, the goal shifts from symptom management to system harmony. The application of IFS has been shown to help with treatment resistant complex trauma.

Psychodynamic

Through shadow work in depth psychology, I help you to uncover any hidden subconscious needs behind different stuck patterns and bring them to conscious awareness, where they can be processed and integrated. You can expect deeper self-understanding and transformative changes with my use of psychodynamic approach in therapy.
