About me

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). I received my Masters in Social Work from Adelphi University and have been in practice for 8 years. I guide clients through life transitions and help them to grow and heal into the best versions of themselves. I believe that therapy can provide the guidance necessary to work through transitions and ultimately, reach your utmost potential. I work collaboratively with clients and utilize a client-centered, strengths-based approach to help them feel empowered to reach their personal goals. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe and welcoming environment, where clients are supported and guided through this process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts and feelings impact their behaviors. CBT allows for growth in personal insight about why we are the way we are and why we behave the way we do.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing allows clients to feel empowered and in control of their therapy. I find it an essential when working with adolescents and young adults.

Strength-Based

I believe that everyone has strengths. Although clients may have difficulty identifying what their strengths are, I utilize my role as a therapist to guide them to uncover those strengths and utilize them to aid in the therapeutic process.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I utilize a person-centered approach as I believe it is important for client's to be in control of their own goals and therapy. As a therapist, my goals is to help clients to feel empowered in taking control of their lives and making steps towards achieving their goals.

First session with Larissa was great. She focused mostly on getting to understand me and my background. Asked a ton of great questions and was clear about next steps.
