About me

I am a compassionate, client-centered therapist who focuses on creating a safe, supportive space where people can explore their experiences and work toward meaningful change. My approach blends evidence-based practices with genuine connection to help clients build insight, resilience, and confidence. My style is collaborative and empathetic, communicating in a way that feels grounding and approachable. This combination makes clients feel both heard and guided.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to therapy. I'll ask about your goals, your current concerns, and any background information that helps me understand your situation. We'll talk about how therapy works, what you can expect of me, and what you're hoping to achieve. By the end of the session, we'll have a clearer sense of your needs and a plan for how we can move forward together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is my warm, structured, and client-centered approach. I create a safe, supportive space while providing clear guidance, helping clients feel both understood and empowered.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with individuals who are ready to invest in themselves and create meaningful, lasting change. My ideal clients are motivated to better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while learning practical skills they can use in everyday life. Whether your struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, grief, or relationship challenges , I provide supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can gain clarity, build resilience, develop healthier coping strategies, and move toward the life you want with greater confidence and purpose.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge negative beliefs, and develop healthier ways of coping with life's challenges. CBT is a practical, goal-oriented approach that equips clients with effective tools to manage anxiety, depression, stress, and other concerns while building confidence, resilience, and lasting positive change.

Motivational Interviewing

With Motivational interviewing, I use it to help clients explore their goals, strengthen their motivation, and build confidence in making meaningful changes. Through a collaborative, nonjudgmental approach, we identify personal values, resolve ambivalence, and develop practical steps toward lasting growth. Rather than telling you what to do, I work alongside you to help you discover your own strengths, make informed decisions, and create positive changes that align with the life you want to live.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients identify their strengths, build on what is already working, and develop practical solutions to the challenges they are facing. Rather than focusing on primarily on past problems, we work together to clarify your goals recognize your existing resources, and create realistic, achievable steps toward positive change. This collaborative approach empowers you to build confidence, improve coping skills, and make meaningful progress at a pace that feels right for you.

Supportive

I use Supportive Therapy to provide a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you can openly discuss your thoughts, feelings, and life experiences. Together, we focus on strengthening your existing coping skills, building resilience, and helping you navigate life's challegenges with greater confidence. My goal is to offer encouragement, emotional support, practical guidance, and validation while helping you recognize your strengths and develop healthy strategies to improve your overall well-being and quality of life.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I use Emotionally Focused Therapy to help clients better understand and process their emotions while strengthening their relationships with themselves and others. Together, we explore patterns that may be contributing to emotional awareness, and develop healthier ways of expressing feelings and responding to life's challenges. This compassionate, collaborative approach foster deeper self-understanding, emotional resilience, and more secure, fulfilling connections.

I look forward to my sessions with Kathy. I feel like I’m talking to a trusted friend who has wisdom, insight and is genuinely looking out for my best interests. It’s wonderful to end a conversation and feel like a better person than when you walked in.

I'm going thru the most challenging phase of my life so far and am overwhelmed. I've only had one session with Kathy so far, but I'm grateful that she immediately put me at ease and seemed to genuinely have compassion for all I'm going thru right now. She also offered up practical things/exercises I can work on between now and our next meeting and I'm really looking forward to getting this ball rolling in a positive direction with her guidance and insight.
