Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of experience. I am passionate about supporting individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, difficult life transitions, or a general sense of feeling stuck or unheard. I provide a nonjudgemental, safe and supportive space where you can openly discuss even the most uncomfortable topics.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first couple of sessions together will have a more of a formal feel to them. I will ask you a lot of questions about yourself in order to assess how to best support you in the therapeutic process. I will be curious to know the reason you are seeking therapy at this time and what your expectations are of therapy. It will also be important for you to determine if I am a good "fit" for you as your therapist. We will use the first couple of sessions getting to know each other. My hope is that following your intake session, you feel a sense of hope, validation, and promise for the future.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

The feedback that I've received from past clients is that they feel comfortable with me. They felt supported, heard and validated. I also use humor when appropriate, which previous clients have appreciated. Clients have told me that they felt like I was "on their side" through the process.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

The idea of starting therapy can be scary and intimidating, even if you've participated in therapy before and are trying it out again. Being open to different ideas, different perspectives, challenging beliefs and habits are all important to be able to make change, grow, and make life a bit easier. I work best with the adult population who are motivated to commit to therapy.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with clients who struggle with anxiety that interferes with daily life and gets in the way of happiness and productivity. CBT challenges emotions, behaviors and thoughts and identifies irrational and negative beliefs. CBT helps to identify healthy coping mechanisms to better manage symptoms of anxiety.

Strength-Based

I use a strength-based approach with clients to build upon their strengths, resiliency and their own resources to improve sense of empowerment and hope.
