Hello! My name is Melissa and I am a mental health counselor LPCC. I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, depression and life transitions. My approach combines warmth, compassion, and evidence-based therapies like CBT. Through the use of evidence- based strategies, we will be able to use a variety of performance skills ranging from mindset and motivation to improving focus and concentration, to developing confidence and mental toughness. I believe therapy should feel like a supportive conversation, a two-sided dialogue with room for reflection, healing and growth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, I will be asking a lot of questions in order for me to learn as much about you as I can. This allows me to get an idea of what may be going on. We will also discuss treatment frequency and what that will look like moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about me compared to other therapists is my attention to detail, active listening skills and empathetic approach.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve adults who are looking for help to navigate anxiety, depression, or any other type of life transitions they may be facing.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT focuses on the present, where other forms of talk therapy may focus on the past. The past may be discussed, but it will not be the main focus of therapy sessions. CBT helps to identify false, or negative thoughts and ideas that have lead to be problem behaviors in the past or currently. This type of therapy tends to help majority of those struggling with depression, anxiety and PTSD.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) A structured program of psychotherapy with a strong educational component designed to provide skills for managing intense emotions and negotiating social relationships.
