Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I received my Masters from Nova Southeastern University and have been practicing for 4 years. I believe in tailoring treatment to meet the unique needs and preferences of each individual, fostering a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship. My clients feel overwhelmed and confused as they go through challenging life transitions. Thus, I help adults struggling with stress and burnout become the best versions of themselves.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will get to know each other a bit better and explore the challenges you are facing so that together we can create a tailored plan to meet your needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am trained in several approaches that can create new insights about your feelings and behaviors. I’ll create a tailored plan based on your needs that may include helping you clarify your desires, learn new tools for communication, and identify unhealthy patterns as they unfold.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am most passionate about working with individuals who feel like they are “not good enough” or who worry about living up to others’ expectations. We can work together to help you learn to love yourself for who you are, and not for what you accomplish.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

During CBT, the client will learn to identify thinking patterns in their everyday life that are causing painful emotions or other problems. Then, by developing new thoughts, they will learn to change how they feel.

Positive Psychology

Researchers in positive psychology believe that happiness can be broken down into three different dimensions that can be improved. These dimensions are the "pleasant life", "meaningful life", and "good life". Each of these dimensions can contribute to a person's sense of well-being. Rather than trying to decrease or eliminate negative emotion, it instead focuses on increasing happiness and well-being.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Psychological flexibility is the capacity to adapt to difficult experiences while remaining true to one’s values. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses heavily on this skill due to its many benefits. These include better resilience, emotional tolerance, and overall well-being.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness means paying attention to the present moment, without judging or trying to change it. This involves observing your thoughts, feelings, and sensations without getting caught up in them.

Amanda is professional, kind, and creates a safe space to grow. She helps me view my anxiety and anger from a new perspective and takes a holistic approach that goes beyond just talking things out. I’ve become more assertive and patient thanks to her guidance. Highly recommend her if you're looking for a thoughtful, supportive therapist.
