Dale Thomas
Hi, My name is Dale Thomas, I have worked in mental health for 30+ years and have 15 years of outpatient therapy experience. I am trained in EMDR and trauma therapy. I work with individuals throughout the lifespan and have no preference regarding age. I also have extensive experience with anxiety, depression, and the treatment of psychotic disorders. I also work with individuals who are experience stress and adjustment issues related to all areas of life.
Strengths
I have a very eclectic style and draw from many different perspectives and techniques.
Ideal clients
Ideally I would love a client who is motivated to move forward in their situation. The state or readiness is secondary as long as the desire and the will to change is there. Their need to heal and their ability to be vulnerable are a priority. Honesty plays a large role in the process and the ability to be honest with oneself is paramount.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is the center of most mental health theories and interventions. Changing the way we think and the way we perceive the world, will have a dramatic impact on ones overall functioning and level of success.
