DaQuana Mack
I’m Dr. DaQuana Mack, DSW, LISW-CP, a licensed clinical social worker and the founder of Helping Other Pursue Excellence, LLC, a mental health clinic dedicated to supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I would describe myself as compassionate, approachable, genuine, and nonjudgmental. I believe in creating a safe space where you can be heard, understood, and supported without feeling judged. My approach is collaborative and client-centered. I meet you where you are, help you recognize your strengths, and work with you to develop practical tools for moving forward. My goal is not to tell you how to live your life, but to walk alongside you as you discover your own path toward healing, growth, and excellence.
First session
During the first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where we begin getting to know one another. We will discuss what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, your goals, and what you hope to accomplish through counseling. Together, we will begin identifying your strengths and developing a plan that feels comfortable and meaningful to you. After the first session, I hope each client feels heard, respected, understood, and encouraged. My goal is for you to leave feeling that you have found a safe space where you can be yourself, that your concerns matter, and that you do not have to navigate your challenges alone.
Strengths
I bring compassion, empathy, active listening, and a nonjudgmental approach to every session. I am intentional about creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable being authentic and expressing themselves openly. I also bring strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, while helping clients recognize their strengths and develop practical strategies to navigate life’s challenges. Most importantly, I meet each client where they are and support them at their own pace.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who is ready to grow, make positive changes, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, workplace stress, or other personal concerns. Despite these challenges, they often have strengths such as resilience, self-awareness, motivation, and a willingness to seek support. My clients’ goals may include improving their emotional well-being, developing healthier coping skills, strengthening relationships, building confidence, setting boundaries, and navigating life transitions. I work collaboratively with clients to help them recognize their strengths, overcome barriers, and move toward a healthier and more fulfilling life.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns, explore how they may affect feelings and actions, and develop healthier, more balanced ways of thinking and responding. I use practical, collaborative strategies that clients can apply both during and between sessions. My goal is to help clients build greater self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and feel more confident managing life’s challenges.
