I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with 17 years of professional experience helping adults manage anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, problems in relationship, and unexpected losses and transitions. I will help you untangle the effects of past trauma, change habitual ways of thinking or behaving that are no longer serving you, navigate loss, or make an important life decision. My communication style is very personable, empathic and conversational. I like to ask thought-provoking and clarifying questions, offer alternative views, and will always honor your choices. Diversity is honored here.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first meeting I will answer any questions you have, help you feel at ease, and learn more about you so that we can identify goals based on what is most important to you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Effective therapy involves a bit more than deep listening. Most people want to experience some change. I offer evidence-based tools to improve your mood and communication, regulate your emotions, process traumatic memories and navigate life's challenges with more grace. Sustainable change builds upon small, simple steps. Using the tools I share will yield noticeable results within 3 sessions or less.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

There is nothing wrong with you. I welcome all forms of diversity. If you can reflect on your experience, work through some discomfort, are motivated for change, and are willing to apply a few exercises outside of session, we'll make a great fit. I do not treat active addictions, eating disorders or acute psychiatric conditions.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have found Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy to be most effective for managing anxiety and depression, and will share simple, well-researched, evidence-based methods to help you feel more grounded, balanced, and able to change habitual ways of thinking and feeling.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

It's impossible to think clearly when emotionally overwhelmed, but a Superpower hides in plain sight: your attention. Bringing mindful attention to your experience in new ways can interrupt spirals of anxiety, depression and reactivity, calm the nervous system, and help you feel more in control and better able to solve problems.
