About me

I am a licensed social worker with over 12 years of experience supporting individuals facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, and addiction. I have experience working with adults, including Veterans and members of the LGBTQ+ community, and provide a compassionate, culturally sensitive approach to care. As a native Spanish speaker, I offer services in both English and Spanish. I also have extensive experience working with Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), helping clients navigate personal and workplace concerns effectively.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the initial session, I begin by introducing myself and providing a brief overview of my professional background and therapeutic approach. The session then focuses on completing a comprehensive psychosocial assessment, which helps to establish a holistic understanding of the client's history, strengths, challenges, current concerns, and goals for treatment. Additionally, we review and establish safety protocols, discuss therapeutic boundaries and expectations, and collaboratively develop an initial treatment plan tailored to the client's needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am deeply committed to the work I do. Over the past 12 years as a social worker, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse population of individuals from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. My clinical experience includes working extensively with Veterans coping with PTSD and co-occurring disorders, supporting them in their recovery and long-term maintenance. Additionally, my work with adults navigating significant life changes and transitions has equipped me with the clinical tools and insight necessary to effectively support individuals who are motivated to make meaningful changes in their lives.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who are in the contemplation stage of change or beyond—those who recognize the need for support and are ready to actively engage in the therapeutic process. When an individual is motivated to pursue meaningful change, the therapeutic alliance becomes a powerful tool for progress. In my experience, this readiness fosters a collaborative dynamic that significantly enhances treatment outcomes.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps individuals identify and modify negative thought patterns and behaviors, learn new coping strategies, and develop skills to manage their symptoms effectively. It is a flexible and adaptive therapy that can be tailored to address the unique challenges of anxiety, depression, and addiction.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy helps individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, and addiction by setting goals, identifying strengths and past successes, and encouraging small, incremental changes. Its future-focused and resource-based approach empowers clients to envision and create a better future.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing enhances motivation and commitment to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence, strengthening self-efficacy, and aligning the client’s actions with their core values and goals. Its techniques of empathy, open-ended questioning, reflective listening, and affirmations make it particularly effective for addressing anxiety, depression, and addiction.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps individuals deal with anxiety, depression, and addiction by promoting acceptance of their internal experiences, encouraging mindfulness, and fostering commitment to actions that align with their values. This approach reduces the psychological struggle against difficult thoughts and feelings and promotes a more fulfilling and values-driven life.

Strength-Based

Strength-Based Therapy helps individuals with anxiety, depression, and addiction by identifying and leveraging their innate strengths and resources. This approach builds confidence, enhances self-esteem, and promotes a positive, goal-oriented focus, leading to more effective and sustainable outcomes.
