New to Grow
I am licensed therapist in Texas, Colorado and Illinois with 19 years of professional work experience. I am well versed in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, grief and loss, motivation, self esteem and confidence. I have 16+ years of work with the United States military both stateside and abroad. I have my doctorate in Clinical Psychology and I am certified as an Addictions Specialist.
In our first session together, the goals will be for you to understand what therapy is, how it works and creating a comfortable virtual space for you to begin. We will work together to determine priority of issues and concerns to address as well as therapeutic techniques and tool that will be helpful in beginning your therapeutic journey.
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Therapy is a safe, non-judgmental place for you to examine your life and process your thoughts and feelings. Therapy can help you gain insight and clarity, so that you are better able to cope with daily life and feel confident in the decisions you are making.
As human being we face daily choices and challenges in life. A growth mindset is something that helps us approach challenges in a positive way that allows for growth as an individual. Setting goals and breaking them down in to manageable concrete steps allows us to move forward in life. Therapy can help to develop this growth mindset so that we can accomplish goals, meet life challenges and become the person we want to be.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Our thoughts are connected to the feelings we experience and then our reactions and behaviors. CBT helps to identify the thoughts we are having and change them in order to produce new feelings and behavioral outcomes.
Strength-Based
I believe in a Strengths-Based approach which helps clients recognize and build on their existing skills, talents and abilities. While it is important to identify the life challenges individuals struggle with, I like to work work collaboratively with clients to identify their own protective factors, personal strengths and past successes that supports healing and growth. This approach is about fostering confidence and increased self-efficacy by empowering the client throughout the therapeutic process.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing is used to gauge where an individual may be in relationship to change. This is a gentle process that helps individuals identify their mindset about the problem or challenge and encourages them to move through the stages of change from precontemplation into action.
