My treatment methods

Integrative

In my practice, I utilize an integrative approach that draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities. I believe that no single therapeutic method works for everyone, which is why I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each individual I work with. My toolkit includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients identify and change negative thought patterns; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which focuses on building skills for emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness; Person-Centered therapy, which emphasizes empathy and unconditional positive regard; Solution-Focused therapy, which concentrates on finding practical solutions to present challenges; EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is particularly effective for trauma processing; and Psychoeducation, which empowers clients with knowledge about their conditions and coping strategies.

Multicultural

I have a profound commitment to supporting adults and veterans who are facing complex mental health challenges. For this population, I offer tailored therapy addressing addiction, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and various forms of trauma. I understand that veterans and multicultural adults often carry unique burdens, and I strive to create a therapeutic space where they feel understood, respected, and supported in their healing journey.

Couples Counseling

I support couples who want to heal old wounds, navigate difficult transitions, and rediscover the emotional bond that brought them together. I offer a grounded, non‑judgmental environment where partners can express their needs openly and learn to respond to each other with empathy. I assist couples through problems, conflict resolution, and communication. My style is direct and down‑to‑earth, with a little humor to keep things human and a spiritual lens for those who want meaning woven into the process. I work from a trauma‑informed foundation, honoring the ways past wounds shape present patterns, and I create a space where LGBTQ+ identities, relationships, and experiences are fully affirmed.

EMDR

I use EMDR and can expect honesty, compassion holistic, mind-body-spirit approach to help people release the old stories and trauma their nervous systems are still carrying. My style is straightforward, empathic, warm, and a little humorous—because healing is serious work, but we don’t have to take ourselves so seriously every second. EMDR allows us to work with the root of distress—not just the symptoms—so clients can release old patterns, build new internal resources, and experience a deeper sense of safety and self trust. I create a space where LGBTQ+ identities and relationships are fully affirmed, honored, and welcomed without explanation or translation. EMDR gives us a way to work with the deeper layers of experience—those moments your body remembers even when your mind would prefer to forget. We move at a pace that respects your system, your boundaries, and your lived wisdom. I integrate grounding practices, somatic awareness, and spiritual meaning making for clients who want their healing to feel connected to something larger than the trauma and CPTSD, PTSD they’ve survived.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help clients navigate intense emotions, build steadier coping skills, and create relationships that feel more balanced and supportive. My approach blends structure with warmth: DBT offers a clear roadmap, and I offer a grounded, non‑judgmental space to practice new ways of responding to life’s challenges. Together, we work on strengthening emotional regulation, increasing distress tolerance, and developing communication skills that support healthier boundaries and deeper connection. DBT is both practical and empowering. It helps clients understand their internal experiences while learning concrete strategies to move through difficult moments with more clarity and self‑compassion. Whether someone is managing overwhelming emotions, patterns that feel hard to break, or the impact of past experiences, I support them in building skills that create real, sustainable change. My goal is to help clients feel more capable, more centered, and more in control of their own lives.
