About me

Hi, I’m Michelle Reese, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Colorado. My journey began in Virginia, where I grew up. Eventually, life led me west, where I now embrace Colorado’s sunshine and beauty. My therapy approach is honest, direct, and compassionate, with a sprinkle of dark humor. While I will not sugarcoat my feedback, I will root for you without judgment. I’ll provide feedback, teach you skills and encourage you to face your inner self-critic. With some assistance, you can live a life that has balance, purpose and joy!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

We’ll identify unhelpful patterns and explore changes aligned with your values to support emotional and behavioral growth. In our sessions, we’ll look at how your mindset and behavior might be making aspects of your life more difficult than they need to be. We’ll reframe negative self-talk, catastrophic thinking, and work on diffusing those thoughts with proven cognitive strategies. You’ll also gain healthy coping skills to enhance your emotional, physical, social, and spiritual well-being. Together, we’ll identify and tackle the barriers in your life, empowering you to create a life you truly love.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I consider myself to be a direct and interactive therapist. I support your decisions, although I may provide my opinions. I can have a dark sense of humor at times and will disclose personal information, when appropriate to your treatment.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have experience working with a variety of adults including older adults. Common clients I work with are struggling with relationship stressors, work-life balance, negative self-talk and lack of motivation. I have experience working with medical professional, caregivers, college students and individuals struggling with suicidal ideation and substance misuse. Please outreach to see if we could be a good fit!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use a CBT focus along with other research based theories. I find CBT can help client's determine the messages their brain in sending them, if it is based on accurate information and then determine how they want to response behaviorally.
