About me

Hi, I'm Lupe. As a first-generation, Spanish-speaking therapist raised by immigrant parents, I understand how culture, family, and life experiences shape our mental health. I provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapy for individuals and families experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, and life transitions, with a special focus on healing generational trauma. I believe healing begins with trust. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in active listening, authenticity, and compassion. I meet clients where they are, blending evidence-based practices with mindfulness while creating a space where humor, honesty, and genuine connection are welcome. I offer therapy in English and Spanish and enjoy working with Latinx and Spanish-speaking communities. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed or ready to create lasting change, I'll support you in building resilience, healing, and a life that feels more authentic. Hola, soy Lupe.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is casual and conversational, with a few structured questions to help guide us. I invite you to share what brought you to therapy and any goals you might have, but you lead the pace. It's really about getting to know you and making sure you feel comfortable and supported from the start.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I've seen firsthand how important mental health support is, especially in communities where it hasn't always been accessible. Through my education, travel, and work across diverse settings, I've gained a strong appreciation for the ways culture, family, and personal history shape us. Becoming a therapist felt like a natural path.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve young women navigating trauma, individuals struggling with addiction, postpartum mothers, and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and life transitions. As a Latina LMFT, I provide a culturally responsive and supportive space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered in their healing process. I work well with clients who may feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, disconnected from themselves, or impacted by generational, relational, or cultural stressors. Many of my clients are seeking healthier coping skills, improved self-esteem, emotional balance, stronger relationships, and greater self-understanding. I also value cultural competency in my work and understand the importance of addressing family dynamics, identity, stigma surrounding mental health, and lived experiences that can impact emotional well-being. My goal is to create a safe and collaborative environment where clients can heal, grow, and build healthier patterns in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT in a collaborative and culturally responsive way, recognizing the importance of family dynamics, cultural values, and stigma that can exist around mental health in Latino/a communities. I help clients identify negative thought patterns, develop healthier coping skills, improve communication, and build emotional awareness through techniques such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral strategies, mindfulness, and psychoeducation.

Positive Psychology

I use Positive Psychology to help clients recognize their strengths, build resilience, and create a greater sense of purpose and balance in their lives. I have experience incorporating this approach with individuals, couples, and families facing anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions.

Trauma-Focused CBT

In my practice, I help clients understand how trauma affects their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while teaching healthy coping and emotional regulation skills. I incorporate techniques such as psychoeducation, relaxation strategies, cognitive restructuring, grounding exercises, and gradual processing of traumatic experiences in a safe and supportive way.
