New to Grow
Hello! My name is Eleanor, but I prefer to be called Lana. I am a Navy Veteran and a licensed Mental Health Counselor with a dual Master's in Psychology. I have my Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) Certification. I have extensive experience providing therapy to individuals, children, adolescents, groups, and occasionally couples in various settings. I have assisted individuals who have experienced abuse, symptoms of depression and anxiety, OCD symptoms, loss/bereavement, addiction, suicidal behaviors, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, difficulty regulating emotions, and problematic coping skills. It would be an honor to work with you.
I adhere to a philosophy of treating clients with utmost respect, empathy, and understanding. I actively encourage clients to introspect and identify and modify problematic behaviors and maladaptive thought patterns, thereby enhancing their self-perception and interpersonal relationships. During our first few sessions, we will work on getting to know each other.
My clients have referred to me as the “Yoda of Therapy” due to my ability to provide clients with the essential tools to effectively navigate and improve their symptoms, while simultaneously guiding and motivating them toward achieving their goals. I adhere to a customized approach tailored to my client’s weekly requirements.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, among others, which I select based on the specific objectives of each client’s treatment. CBT is useful is identifying problematic behaviors and faulty thinking patterns which lead to an increase in overwhelming emotions.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT can be useful in identifying,, processing, and accepting emotions which we feel are overwhelming or difficult to express. DBT teaches mindfulness (staying in the moment), distress tolerance (learning ways to effectively manage emotions), emotional regulation (identifying/naming the emotion you're experiencing and ways to accept the emotion).
