With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about supporting adults and couples as they navigate life’s transitions and pursue meaningful growth. Whether you are a college student or recent graduate adjusting to a new season of life, an individual facing anxiety or depression, or a couple preparing for marriage or working to strengthen your relationship, I strive to provide guidance that feels both supportive and practical. My Christian faith shapes my personal values; however, I work with people from all backgrounds and beliefs. Faith-based perspectives are incorporated into counseling only if a client specifically desires it. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Life transitions—whether expected or unexpected—can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. Together, we can explore the challenges you are facing and work toward the emotional and personal goals that matter most to you. I specialize in working with adults experiencing life changes, including college and post-college transitions, relationship challenges, marriage and premarital preparation, and parenting. I also support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and stress that often accompany these seasons of change. My background as a behavioral specialist in community mental health allows me to effectively support adults diagnosed with ADHD or autism spectrum disorder, as well as parents raising children with these diagnoses. In my work with couples, I draw from my experience as a trained Prepare/Enrich facilitator to help partners strengthen communication, navigate conflict, and build healthier, more connected relationships. When working with individuals, I primarily use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My focus is on equipping you with practical tools and strategies so you can move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and resilience.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable, supportive connection. We’ll talk about what brings you to counseling, any current challenges you may be facing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. Whether you’re navigating a life transition, experiencing anxiety or depression, or seeking support in your relationships, I will meet you with openness and without judgment. I’ll also ask some questions about your background to better understand your experiences and help guide our approach. By the end of the session, we’ll begin identifying goals and discuss next steps, so you can leave with a clearer sense of direction and what to expect moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients often describe me as warm, empathetic, and easy to talk to. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel comfortable sharing openly and exploring the challenges you may be facing. Building trust and helping you feel genuinely heard and understood is a central part of the work we do together. I value honesty and clear, respectful communication. At times, this may include gently challenging unhelpful patterns or perspectives, always with care, compassion, and your growth in mind. My goal is not only to support you, but also to help you develop new insights that lead to meaningful and lasting change. My approach to therapy is collaborative and grounded in both compassion and practicality. I believe the counseling process is most effective when we work together—integrating your experiences, strengths, and goals with my professional knowledge and guidance. In addition to being a supportive listener, I provide concrete tools, strategies, and perspectives to help you navigate life transitions, strengthen relationships, and move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and confidence.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adults who are navigating life transitions and seeking support, clarity, and growth during these seasons of change. This may include college students or recent graduates adjusting to new responsibilities and uncertainty, individuals experiencing anxiety or depression, or those feeling stuck or overwhelmed by shifting circumstances. I also work well with clients who are open to exploring how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, and who are motivated to develop healthier patterns and practical coping strategies. I enjoy working with individuals and couples who want to strengthen their relationships—whether that means preparing for marriage, improving communication, navigating conflict, or addressing ongoing relationship concerns. I also support parents who are seeking guidance in building stronger, more connected relationships with their children. My ideal clients don’t need to have everything figured out; they simply need a willingness to engage in the process. Together, we can create a supportive space to navigate life’s challenges, build insight, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In counseling, I draw from a range of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies to help you better understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Gaining awareness of these patterns is often a powerful first step toward creating meaningful and lasting change, especially during times of transition or increased stress. Together, we will identify unhelpful or negative thought patterns and gently challenge them, replacing them with more balanced and realistic perspectives. I may incorporate tools such as thought records to help you recognize common thinking styles and evaluate whether your thoughts are accurate, helpful, and aligned with your goals. To support meaningful change, I also focus on behavior. This may include developing practical, achievable steps that encourage engagement in activities that improve mood and overall well-being. When working with anxiety or avoidance, we may use gradual, supportive exposure techniques to help you face challenges with greater confidence over time. In addition, I integrate problem-solving strategies, coping skills, and relaxation techniques to help you manage stress and navigate life’s challenges more effectively. My goal is to provide you with practical tools you can use beyond our sessions—helping you build confidence, resilience, and healthier patterns as you move forward.
