Welcome to New Hope For This Season Counseling LLC! My name is June Faith Dickerson and I am the founder and owner of New Hope For This Season Counseling LLC. This counseling practice was created to provide hope, encouragement, and emotional wellness while meeting the needs of clients with a heart full of compassion and empathy. I began my career in the Maryland area in 2019 working with individuals and families in crisis. I always had a heart to help people and spent many years volunteering at schools and youth detention centers which birthed into my passion to begin my counseling educational journey. To receive the credentialing, I obtained my bachelors in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology and my master's in Clinical Mental Health.
In our first session together, we will casually get acquainted with one another, then proceed into the specific challenges that bring you to counseling. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. My goal is to provide you with an opportunity to be free with confidence to find your voice and empowerment.
My understanding and empathy, while incorporating skills, strategies, and theories equip me to help you maneuver through those seasons with empowerment, confidence, purpose, and healing. The atmosphere I create provides an inviting, non-judgmental, safe, nurturing, and peaceful atmosphere to promote healing.
At times life may become very overwhelming and confusing. You may have experienced emotional hurt, disappointments, and relationship challenges. As a licensed counselor, I have a passion to support clients through awakening their awareness of their strengths, while exposing vulnerabilities in a safe nurturing environment at their own pace.
CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and influence each other. As a therapist, I help individuals identify and challenge negative or unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs.
(SFBT) is a therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and building upon client strengths to create positive change, emphasizing solutions rather than problems and focusing on the present and future rather than the past. As a therapist, I utilize a collaborative approach, with the client and client working together to identify goals, explore solutions, and build upon successes.
Faith-based therapy, or Christian counseling, integrates religious beliefs and spiritual practices into therapeutic interventions, focusing on themes of hope and healing through faith, and often incorporating biblical principles. As a therapist, I assist clients in exploring their faith and relationship with God, and find meaning and purpose in their lives.
