I look forward to meeting you! While I have been licensed for 10 years, I have over 15 years of experience in the field of social work. I have the privilege of working with various populations from young children to adults and older adults in their journeys through life with LGBTQ+ identities, varying socioeconomic statuses, multicultural experiences, and religious backgrounds. I find this calling incredibly meaningful and hold this work and other individuals with much respect and care.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Therapy begins with the intake process. First, you will review your therapist policies and procedures, talk about fees, and identify emergency contacts. Second, you will discuss what to expect during therapy, including the type of therapy, the length of treatment, and the risks and benefits. Third, you will explore what brings you to therapy and form a treatment plan, including the type of therapy, how often you will attend therapy, your short- and long-term goals, and the steps you will take to achieve them. Over time, you and your therapist may edit your treatment plan to be sure it describes your goals and steps you need to take. After intake, you will attend regular therapy sessions through video, called telehealth. Participation in therapy is voluntary - you can stop at any time. At some point, you will achieve your goals. At this time, you will review your progress, identify supports that will help you maintain your progress, and discuss how to return to therapy if you need it in the future.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I strive to partner with individuals and provide an affirming space as we journey together towards healing, growth, and acceptance. I believe it is important to be seen as our authentic selves and doing so encourages healing. This also shines a light on our strengths and empowers us to use those strengths to the best of our abilities.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for over a year. I have seen this help many individuals challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage overwhelming emotions. CBT can be useful in recognizing how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other and identify ways to intervene to improve our functioning.

Jessica is a wonderful therapist and has shown me a lot of ways that a therapist can be open, warm, and accepting of one’s thoughts and ideas. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants that same kind of relationship with their therapist. Much love to all who read this and good luck on your health journeys. :)

Very warm, thoughtful, and insightful. I appreciate the listening and summation of her approach, as I do that in my own life and exchanges with others.
