I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Fontana, CA. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in Malibu in 2020.

After his passing, I dedicated my career to one where I could help others in the hopes that they find healing, strength, and know that they are not alone.

I work with various age groups to help them find healing, manage their symptoms, and achieve their treatment goals- and I am so honored to be part of that process with my clients.

First session

During our first session, you can expect us to spend a good amount of time learning more about you- your symptoms, what brings you to therapy, family background, your goals, etc. I will also take time to discuss with you the process of therapy and address any questions/concerns you may have. Not to worry though! Like any relationship, it takes time to get to know one another and one session will not cover it all.

Strengths

I decided to become a therapist after losing my father to suicide in 2011. It was a moment that changed my life forever. Growing up as a first-generation Asian American in the US, I had a very skewed understanding of mental health and healthy communication. After his passing, I dedicated my career to one where I could help others in the hopes that they find healing, strength, and know that they are not alone.

Ideal clients

I work well with clients who are open to the process of exploring themselves and the world around them. Clients who are curious and open to working together as a team work well with my style and personality. I thrive with feedback and encourage open conversations with my clients and couples to help build safety, trust, and healing in the therapeutic process. Please feel free to reach out to see if we may be a good fit!

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I incorporate CBT in my practice by understanding how our thoughts influence our feelings and behavior. Together, we find strategies and tools within this type of treatment to target our thoughts in a way that is more preferable. Some examples of tools I use include: brain dump, challenging negative/anxious thoughts, rationalizing thoughts, putting thoughts on trial.

Christian Counseling

I incorporate Christian counseling at my client’s request only. Together, we integrate my client’s beliefs and spiritual to strengthen, support, and heal through the challenges my clients experience.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I incorporate culture in therapy to help understand my clients and tailor treatment to suit their needs. I understand the unique challenges and strengths we all face. I approach culture with curiosity and work together with my clients to understand their culture and how it may affect their symptomology.

Interpersonal

Relationships are a vital component of our lives and if desired, I strive to understand more with my clients in how they affect us in multiple ways. Together, we work on building skills and deepening understanding to grow in order to have relationships we want to have.

Psychoeducation

I incorporate psychoeducation with my clients to help bridge mind, body, and spirit. I became a therapist so you don’t have to! Part of my goal with providing psychoeducation is sharing the knowledge I have so we can grow and develop skills and tools to address your needs.

Jamie is super warm and radiates patience, love, and healing! I can easily open up about my struggles and issues without fear of being shamed or judged. She is very attentive and knows how to extract key words to follow up and look further look into. I look forward to speaking with her every week because she is helping me find that inner healing. Jamie is all around an awesome psychologist that feels like a warm friend rather than a cold distant stranger.

Jamie is a very warm and gentle. Her voice and tone are filled with peace and understanding. I not once felt I was psychoanalyzed by someone cold and indifferent. She is very smart, caring, and attentive. I look forward to making great progress in my mental healing with such an amazing woman!
