Welcome - I'm glad you're here. I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Iowa with an emphasis in mental health. This background allows me to approach your concerns with a holistic and informed perspective. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or just not like yourself lately, you're not broken - and you’re not too much. Life can hit hard, and therapy can offer the space to slow down, be real, and reconnect with your strength.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients often report feeling safe and seen. In our first session, we’ll take time to explore what brings you in, what you hope to gain from therapy, and what’s felt hard to carry alone. I show up with empathy, honesty, and curiosity - creating space for real conversation. Our work isn’t about “fixing” you, but rather understanding your experiences, strengthening your insight, and helping you move forward in alignment with your values.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is grounded, collaborative, and deeply personalized and individualized. I’ve supported clients in reuniting with their children and families, restoring trust in relationships, and strengthening their roles as parents and partners. I’ve walked alongside individuals as they’ve completed treatment programs, had criminal charges dismissed, ended probation, and found new ways to manage anger and choose different behaviors. Beyond results, I help clients uncover meaning, acceptance, joy, and peace - on their own terms and in their own time.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Wondering why you feel overwhelmed all the time? Why you can't stop worrying about everything? Or why you get so angry over small things? Let's talk about it. I’m here to support individuals navigating depression, anxiety, and serious mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, etc. I work with men’s issues, relationship and family conflict, and those figuring out how to design a life that feels more aligned and meaningful. I also have experience working with the LGBTQIA2S+ community, BIPOC individuals, first responders, survivors of domestic or intimate partner violence, student athletes, and those exploring open or non-monogamous relationships. Whether you're facing life transitions or simply trying to find your place in the world, I’m here to walk alongside you. I work best with clients who are open and willing to do the inner work necessary for change - always honoring that autonomy is central to the healing process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in both individual and group settings to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Rather than trying to "fix" their thoughts, I support clients in learning how to manage them in ways that lead to healthier patterns and more intentional outcomes.

Gestalt

In both individual and group work, I use Gestalt therapy to help clients become more aware of their present-moment experiences and how unfinished emotions or patterns from the past may be influencing their current lives. This approach encourages personal responsibility and supports clients in reconnecting with their inner sense of agency and wholeness.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to meet clients where they are, helping them explore and resolve ambivalence around change. By fostering a nonjudgmental and collaborative space, this approach empowers clients to clarify their values, strengthen their motivation, and take meaningful steps toward their goals.

Grief Therapy

In grief work, I create a compassionate space for clients to process loss in its many forms - whether it's the death of a loved one, life transitions, or identity shifts. Grief therapy helps clients honor their experience, find meaning in their pain, and move forward without rushing or bypassing the process.

Psychodynamic

Using a psychodynamic lens, I support clients in exploring how early relationships, unconscious patterns, and past experiences shape their present behaviors and emotional world. This approach fosters insight and self-understanding, helping clients break free from patterns that no longer serve them.

I am beyond grateful for everything we were able to accomplish together. It's very hard for me to open up about my feelings and parts of my life I fall short on with strangers. Antonio is truly authentic, comforting, and deliberate in helping you to see things through a new lens and re-examine your past methods for dealing with troubling situations. He helped me rewire my way of thinking in order to manage my triggers. Depression and anxiety are no longer issues for me. I am forever grateful.
