About me

Hi, my name is Kanisha, and I am a holistic women’s mental health therapist. I am an advocate for self-care, a first-time mom, and someone who is committed to helping my clients live more aligned and fulfilling lives. I work with women navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, boundaries, and life transitions. I understand how easy it can be to lose yourself while managing the many roles and responsibilities life brings. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself, and prioritize your mental and emotional wellness.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session with me will be warm, conversational, and focused on creating a safe space for you to show up as you are. We’ll spend some time getting to know each other and talking about what’s currently going on in your life and what brought you to therapy. I’ll also ask about some of your past experiences and how they may be impacting you today. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out or know exactly what you want to work on. If time allows, we’ll begin exploring your goals and what you hope to gain from therapy. Most importantly, our first session is an opportunity for us to connect and begin creating a space that feels supportive, comfortable, and authentic to you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of the greatest strengths I bring to my sessions is authenticity and lived experience. I believe in doing my own inner work so that I can show up fully and support other women as they navigate their own healing and growth. My approach goes beyond traditional talk therapy by considering your overall wellness—mind, body, and spirit. When it feels aligned, I incorporate mindfulness, yoga-based practices, and other holistic interventions into our work together. I also bring warmth, compassion, and realness into the therapy space, creating an environment where you can feel comfortable showing up as your full self.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is a young to middle-aged woman who is tired of putting everyone else first and is ready to begin honoring herself. I especially enjoy creating affirming spaces for Black women and women of color who are looking for a therapist who understands the importance of culture, identity, and being able to show up as their authentic selves. She is ready to speak her truth, set boundaries, prioritize her own needs, and begin living life on her own terms. She may be navigating anxiety, self-doubt, burnout, relationship challenges, or a major life transition and is ready to stop allowing fear to keep her stuck. Most importantly, she is open to doing the work, making meaningful changes, and becoming the most authentic and aligned version of herself.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is the foundation of much of my work. I use it to help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and identify patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, self-doubt, fear, or feeling stuck. I also integrate mindfulness and somatic practices when appropriate, such as grounding, breathwork, and noticing how stress and emotions show up in the body. Together, we work on challenging unhelpful patterns, developing practical coping skills, and creating meaningful changes that support the life you want to live.
