I am a licensed independent Social Worker who has worked in adoption, foster care, child welfare and adult crisis arena. I was NASW Region V Social Worker of the year in 2016. I have worked in teaching, crisis settings and home based in the past. I am dedicated to helping clients identify and overcome challenging patterns in their lives through a variety of dynamic methods.
Clients work on identifying their goals and creating coping skills around triggers. We will work to identify trouble patterns and create safe pathways through those.
I specialize in working with clients who are ready to overcome old patterns and have the insight and awareness to seek new patterns. I allow the client to be an expert in their own healing journey and together we can co-construct a new narrative to guide their life.
Couples and individuals who want to focus on overcoming challenging family patterns. Specific interest in dealing with Anxiety, exposure to trauma and toxic family systems.
I have trained extensively on CBT for adults and adolescents. I use it to help clients connect their feelings and beliefs with their actions and behaviors. Many clients who struggle with anxiety and depression find it particularly helpful.
I have trained in somatic work. I integrate mindfulness and somatic work into almost all of my sessions to allow clients to develop positive coping skills and connect their mind and body to further deepen their understanding of self.
I find working in Gestalt groups to be extremely beneficial to client growth. I used gestalt methodologies in many of my group settings.
