Hi, my name is Adam Turner. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have been working with individuals and couples to help them work through difficulties and overcome issues for over 20 years. I have worked in jails, on the streets, in schools, and even in other countries learning ways to help others improve their lives and work through difficulty.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session we begin to understand the problems, how long they've been a problem, issues they are causing, goals you have for therapy, and developing a plan to reach your goals. I am wanting to understand your situation, work on establishing goals to work towards, and then I will explain the ways we will work through challenges during therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients who are looking for a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach usually enjoy working with me. Clients I see are usually struggling with individuals and couples dealing with relationship problems, anger, anxiety, depression, parenting difficulty, blended family issues, and adjusting to difficult life issues, and depression. Most clients are not enjoying life and want help making some changes and finding their way through pain, circumstances, and difficulty. About half of my clients are looking for a therapist who can identify with a Christian/Biblical perspective as well.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in working with individuals and couples who feel stuck in cycles of stress, whether stemming from professional burnout or personal transitions. My ideal clients are motivated individuals looking to identify the specific 'sticking points' that hinder their growth, particularly those navigating the delicate balance between career demands and personal well-being. I provide a grounded, supportive space to address common challenges like anxiety, depression, and the complexities of modern relationships. By exploring the intersections of work-life balance and emotional health, we work together to develop practical strategies for clarity and resilience. Whether you are dealing with persistent worry, low mood, or are simply seeking a more intentional way of living, my goal is to help you move forward with renewed perspective and a stronger sense of purpose.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We will work on understanding how triggers (events that happen to us) , thoughts/beliefs (the meaning we create from the event), emotions (how we feel), and behaviors (our reactions or responses to emotions) effect your life and look for ways to make healthy changes to improve your life.

Adam was great and direct about his method and style of communication. I haven’t been to therapy in a long time and am not sure what a good fit looks like so I appreciated the clarity and direct approach regarding how he works.
