Hello, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Illinois. I have worked in the field of Social Work for 25 years at the Bachelor's level, including case management for at-risk youth, CPS investigations and medical social work. I received my Master's of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville and have been practicing four years. I assist adults dealing with anxiety, depression and trauma with recognizing triggers/barriers to successful living and then learning to effectively reframe in order to be a better version of themselves.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session together, we will begin with introductions. We will talk in a broad sense about what brought you in today. I will ask you about the treatment goals that you have for yourself. If you don't have any at this time, no worries we can explore those together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Having been in the field of social work for over twenty years, I feel that I have a great deal of empathy for people in general. I have seen many things and tell clients that they are in a safe space and what they say will not be judged in any way. I also believe I have developed the skill of active listening which is absolutely vital for successful therapy. Together we can identify what your barrier is and develop a treatment plan that will help you be a more successful version of yourself.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My clients realize that a change needs to happen and have begun thinking about how to make that happen. They are people who may have possibly had some sort of trauma in their life and don't know how to work through it. This may be causing depression, anxiety, substance use issues, job issues, etc. They may possibly be anxious about beginning therapy but willing to give it a try.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT to help recognize negative thoughts and patterns of thinking and then begin reframing those into more positive thought processes.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Used with CBT to begin to recognize and identify triggers and emotional responses to those triggers in order to learn to appropriately reframe.
Motivational Interviewing
Used to assist the client with exploring at a deeper level triggers, barriers to success, trauma, etc.

Tracy was so warm and easy to talk to. She is also very open with her own views and that makes the conversation feel honest and always welcomed without judgement.
