About me
Migdalia Villafane or “Dalia” as she prefers to be called believes that the therapeutic relationship is to assist individuals through therapy, changing the individuals’ lives for the better. Because this relationship is so essential, she believes it is important that she provides a safe, open and non-judgmental atmosphere where an individual can feel at ease. She knows that no single approach is the right one for every individual, so, she utilizes a range of therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused, Family Systems, as well as mindfulness training. Her educational background includes an MSW from the University of Southern California and she is licensed in the state of California as an LCSW.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Clients can expect a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where they feel respected, valued, and heard. Therapy is a collaborative process, and clients are encouraged to share only what feels comfortable and safe as trust and the therapeutic relationship develop over time. An overview of the therapy process, including its purpose, expectations, and limitations, will be provided to help clients feel informed and empowered. Clients are encouraged to ask questions at any point throughout treatment to foster understanding, promote transparency, and enhance their sense of safety and comfort within the therapeutic space.

The ideal client is an adult, ages 18 through older adulthood, who is open to the therapeutic process and motivated to explore meaningful ways to improve their overall well-being and quality of life. They are willing to engage actively in treatment, reflect on their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and collaborate in developing effective coping strategies and solutions. Ideal clients are committed to applying the skills learned in therapy between sessions and completing agreed-upon homework assignments, as these activities help reinforce progress and promote lasting change.
