Welcome. I hope that some information about me, who I typically treat, and how I approach the therapeutic relationship will help you determine if we may be a good fit to work together. I am a therapist holding two masters degrees in both clinical social work and child development and have been working in the field of clinical work for over 15 years. My academic and professional background helps me to have a deeper understanding of development and how it interplays with clinical needs.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session we will look at what brought you in to therapy. Usually it is a lot of seemingly small things that have added up. Othertimes it is a bigger internal or external event or pull. We will talk though those components and chart how we want to manage and respond to them. I will ask you about various aspects of your life and what you enjoy. We come to therapy with so much knowledge about ourselves and what works and what is less successful. In the beginning stages of treatment, we will use your understanding of yourself to add to your pre existing resources and to shift those that are perhaps not currently as helpful. We will develop a plan to help guide us though your treatment process, regularly checking to ensure that you are getting what you want and need from the therapeutic experience.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

There are many things that have made our work helpful and restorative. I bring a lot of myself to our work. I bring experience in working in trauma recovery, parenting support, child and adolescent development and values work among others. I bring in humor and "Dad jokes" and partner with you to help decide the next course of action together. Lets chat more about what you are looking for to help see how I can use pieces of myself and my training to help you in your process.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My treatment approach is client centered and eclectic, yet I gravitate towards circle of security, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and solution focused modalities. I work with each client to establish treatment goals and objectives, regularly returning to them to track progress. I help clients navigate their experiences and examine different ways to move forward: I aim to encourage individuals to find and rely on their own strength and power. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions.
