I have over 30 years of experience providing counseling and therapy services to adults of all ages and backgrounds. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic interventions, including EMDR for trauma. I provide individual and couples therapy in a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where we can address your challenges together. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, older adults issues, serious medical conditions and advance care planning (including end-of-life decisions), trauma, and supporting families of those struggling with substance use., LGBTQI+, and neurodiversity issues. I will support you while also compassionately challenging you when needed, so that the progress and growth you are seeking can take place. I look forward to working with you!

First session

In our first session I'll explain Telehealth guidelines and other therapy information to you, and will conduct an intake assessment in which I'll ask you about yourself - what is bringing you to therapy, about your background, relationships, etc. I aim for you to feel comfortable, heard, seen, and understood.

Strengths

I have many years of experience in providing counseling/therapy but I also have much life experience as an older person. I'm what we call "well seasoned" and bring these years of wisdom to our sessions. However, I'm still plugged into the younger generations and remain current with culture and the experiences of those younger than I. This unique life experience I have allows me to work both with clients in their 20's all the way up to much older adults as I'm familiar with both. I'm trained in modalities that are evidence based and effective, including EMDR for trauma, and in couples therapy.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is any individual or couple whom is struggling with issues causing them distress, or causing problems and conflict in their lives. I hope for clients who intend to attend our sessions consistently (either weekly or twice per month) so we can establish momentum in addressing your issues., and clients can see real change within themselves. I'd hope for clients who are committed to their therapy, but I'm understanding of the occasional need to reschedule or cancel a session.

Treatment methods

Trauma-Informed Care

I incorporate different modalities depending on the client's issues and needs at any time during therapy.
