Empowering

You can enter therapy for a variety of reasons. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients begin to address their presenting issues by creating a feeling of safety, mutual respect, and providing you with unconditional support. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University and a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois. I have extensive experience in working with ethnic and cultural diverse communities, LGBTQ+, Military Service Members, Veterans, and adult men and women with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma.

First session

During our first therapy session, I work with my clients one-on-one. This allows me to focus on you and build rapport to help you get personally grounded, centered, and balanced so that you can be the best version of yourself. You set the pace, with a little more time than a standard session to help me gain a full understanding of what might be blocking you from fulfillment. I do a thorough assessment and evaluation, then together we decide the best course of action. Through our work together, I will do my best to help guide you, support you, and validate you. I am passionate about my work and committed to helping you find balance in all elements of your life.

Strengths

I bring an attitude of curiosity, gentleness, and humor to your therapy sessions and work to create a safe space where you can feel seen and heard. I have an eclectic approach and will design therapy around your personality type and what you are most comfortable with to meet your needs.

Ideal clients

My ideal individual therapy client is someone who is genuinely committed to their personal growth and emotional well-being. They arrive with an open mind, a willingness to be honest with themselves, and a curiosity about understanding their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors more deeply. They attend sessions consistently, recognizing that meaningful change is built through commitment and ongoing effort rather than quick fixes. They are motivated to actively engage in the therapeutic process, even when the work feels uncomfortable or challenging, and understand that growth often requires vulnerability.
