I have been in the practice of psychotherapy for more than 25 years. I was a professor of psychology for the University of Phoenix. I have worked with children, adolescents, couples, individuals, families. I am fluent in the Spanish language, speaking and writing. I have worked with many members of the Latino-a community over the years and have had clients, Spanish speakers and not, returning to my practice sometimes after a period of more than one year. The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have strengths that include having been placed in a orphanage at the age of 11, and having lived in this setting for about two years. I am a Army veteran and have developed an ability to communicate with many different cultures that I encountered while in the military.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Clients undergoing depression and anxiety and their cognitive approaches that lead to feeling down, unworthy, depressed, anxious. Help Pt learn mediation techniques that may be applied daily in order to become more centered, and in the "here and now". Refer to medication management if so required and monitor intake of medications were clients prescribed a psychotropic. Bring family members to therapy with client if so doing may help client to address interpersonal issues that may be causing psychological issues for client.
