Hello! My name is Pai and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of California and have been practicing for 7 years. As a first-generation Thai-American with working class background, I bring a deep understanding of overcoming hardships and trauma. I have worked in community mental health providing culturally responsive therapeutic services including harm reduction and crisis counseling. Rooted in social justice, my work as a therapist is an extension of my passion in helping others empower themselves and assist in their healing journey.
Our first session will involve learning about what brings you to therapy, understanding your goals, strengths and values. By creating a non-judgmental space, I hope to build rapport and help create a supportive environment for authenticity as we get to know each other.
Using an anti-racist and anti-oppressive lens, my approach is to de-stigmatize mental illness while highlighting your strengths and honoring lived experiences. I can be warm yet direct in helping break patterns that are no longer helpful.
Individuals who are navigating challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma (racial trauma and generational trauma), moral injury, PTSD, and grief. Individuals who want concrete strategies to navigate this complex and changing world. This is a collaborative process, we will work together to create plans that is best for you. I will be your fiercest advocate while also holding you accountable.

Trauma often creates disconnection with the body. I utilize grounding skills to help bring the body and mind back into balance. I will assist in learning to be more aware of the nervous system to return to zone of well being.
I use EFT to help bring more awareness of your emotions, explore them, understand them better, and use them in a way that leads to a healthier life. EFT believes people have an innate desire to seek growth, and can achieve it by exploring emotions that they typically avoid.
I use CBT to help understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and reactions can influence the way you feel and react to the world. I will help identifying unhelpful patterns and teach helpful coping strategies.
I help highlight strengths, heighten gratitude and awareness, encourage connecting with others, and develop the wisdom needed to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

The intake was very professional and I enjoyed that he took a little bit of time to share his background because I felt like I could relate. I look forward to more sessions.

For the initial session, Pai was very throrough in his approach to get to know me and asked pertinent questions to get to the root of the problem. He outlined what is expected of me to get the most out of therapy, and just after one session has made me feel like I have someone on my personal mental health team.
