Xavier Fullerton, affectionately known as “X,” is a proud graduate of Winston-Salem State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a Master of Science in Rehabilitative Counseling. He is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over eight years of experience across a range of clinical settings. In September 2024, Xavier transitioned out of managed care to pursue a more intentional path in mental health. By December 2024, he launched his private practice, Just Therapy PLLC, with a mission rooted in addressing men’s issues—particularly the emotional intelligence and well-being of men of color. Xavier’s therapeutic philosophy prioritizes people over diagnoses. He focuses on creating affirming, culturally attuned spaces where shared experiences lead to healing, self-awareness, and feeling truly seen.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session, we will engage in open and casual dialogue where you are able to share your story while we work to find a connection. Ultimately, the goal will be for you to determine if I am the therapist that best fits your needs

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Having worked with many populations, I have learned to connect with others in the most amazing ways. I focus on the therapist-client relationship rooted in genuine sincerity. Regarding this relationship as the most significant part of therapy ensures that clients feel safe, heard, and understood.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I thoroughly enjoy working with males with focus on men's issues and child and adolescent , along with their support systems, to help them find their own voice as they navigate the challenges found in an ever-changing world. They often feel unheard or misunderstood by others leaving them filled with emotions they may not be equipped to cope with or express.

My treatment methods

Child Parent Psychotherapy

I have spent the last 6 years working with children and their parents in an effort to strengthen their relationship and increase positive interactions. I work hand in hand with both child and parent to identify the contributing stressors in their relationship.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In Person-Centered Therapy I use a variety of techniques to help clients gain self-confidence and reach their full potential. My goal is to create a safe space for you to process your thoughts and feelings, and to help you to feel empowered to live your life authentically.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT therapy is an integral to approach to therapy as it helps my clients identify and challenge their own negative thought patterns and behaviors for effectual change.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing has been an effective part of my therapeutic approach for 8 years. I enjoy using several techniques including open-ended questioning, affirmation, and reflective listening in an collaborative effort to determine the reasons for my client's desired change.

I had a lot to unpack during my introductory session. He never once made me feel rushed or inadequate. In fact, he actively listened, offered thoughtful insights, and provided helpful, positive feedback throughout the session.
