As a licensed clinical social worker with a rich and varied background, I bring extensive experience and expertise to support individuals, couples, and families on their journey toward improved mental well-being. From my private practice in Naperville, Illinois, I offer personalized therapy, drawing upon my diverse clinical experiences spanning over two decades. My commitment to fostering inclusive education and promoting diversity and social justice extends beyond the therapy room, as evidenced by my involvement in community education and advocacy efforts. With a focus on empowerment and resilience, I strive to empower clients with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate life's challenges and thrive.
In our initial session together, you can anticipate my dedicated focus on understanding you more deeply to tailor our therapeutic journey to your specific needs. We'll collaboratively explore the process and pace of therapy, ensuring it aligns with your comfort and preferences. I'll reserve ample time for any questions or concerns you may have about therapy and facilitate an open dialogue to establish our shared goals. Above all, I emphasize that this process is driven by you; we'll adapt the pace, style, or approach as necessary to ensure our partnership is both productive and meaningful.
My distinctive approach as a therapist stems from my identity as a female of color, coupled with my extensive experience across diverse backgrounds. With a deep understanding of the complexities of identity and mental health, I am equipped to address a wide range of mental health issues. I provide a safe and inclusive environment where clients can explore their individual journeys within a culturally sensitive framework, drawing from my background to foster empathy and connection.
Given my extensive experience and diverse background, I am well-positioned to serve a wide range of clients. However, I believe I am particularly effective in working with individuals, couples, or families who are navigating complex life transitions, such as relocation, cultural adjustment, or relationship changes. My proficiency in providing therapy across various settings and populations, combined with my commitment to inclusivity and social justice, makes me especially equipped to support clients from diverse cultural backgrounds or those facing systemic challenges. Additionally, my expertise in areas such as women's health, family dynamics, and community education suggests that I may excel in assisting clients seeking support in these specific areas

Dr. Bommi is easy to talk with and reminds me to take care of myself. She is kind and thoughtful in our conversations. I am very comfortable sharing my thoughts and feelings knowing she has my best interest at heart (even through tough subjects).

Honestly, I was scared to start therapy, but Dr. B has been my safe space. She makes sure that you are heard, gives you homework, and challenges your doubts and disbeliefs. She holds your hand through what can be considered hard work and lets you know that you are capable of doing hard things. If you are ready to do the work, she is the one to do it with. If not, she will wait for you and give you grace. I can't recommend her enough.
