I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Los Angeles County, California, offering Telehealth services to clients statewide. Fluent in both Spanish and English, I have almost 30 years of professional experience in various social work roles, including child protection and child and family therapy. I specialize in helping clients manage stress, anxiety, and depression, and I approach every individual with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. I customize our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique needs. Taking the first step toward therapy can be challenging, and it’s an accomplishment to be proud of!
In our first session, we’ll focus on gathering a detailed social history and building our therapeutic relationship. I’ll collect background information to better understand your needs and what led you to therapy. We’ll discuss your symptoms and explore skills to help manage them both during and outside of sessions. Throughout this and all sessions, I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences and expectations of me as your therapist. I’ll also review my legal responsibilities as a licensed therapist in California and answer any questions about my professional background.
I take pride in being culturally sensitive and trauma-informed, tailoring therapy to each client's unique needs. My eclectic approach combines techniques from mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and psychodynamic methods. I strive to provide client-centered care that meets individuals where they are.
I primarily work with children, adolescents and adults dealing with anxiety, stress, and depression. My approach focuses on building a strong connection with clients and initially working on symptom reduction. I teach practical skills that clients can use both in and outside of sessions. I also have experience working with diverse groups, including families of military veterans, immigrants, and single parents.
