Whitney Warthan
I'm Whitney Warthan, and I believe emotional healing and personal growth can be strengthened by the harmony of Christian faith and psychology. I integrate biblical principles with evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help clients navigate life's challenges, understand themselves more deeply, and build healthier relationships.
I believe healing can be meaningful work without every conversation feeling heavy.
My goal is to create a compassionate, judgment-free space where you feel heard, supported, and encouraged as you grow emotionally and spiritually.
First session
Our work together will be collaborative and tailored to your needs and goals. We'll explore patterns, process difficult experiences, and develop practical strategies for healthier thinking, coping, and relationships. When it's meaningful to you, we'll integrate Christian faith and biblical principles with evidence-based psychological approaches. Growth isn't always linear, and healing doesn't happen overnight. We'll celebrate progress, work through setbacks, and make room for both the serious work of healing and the lighter moments that make us human.
Strengths
I bring warmth, empathy, a faith-centered perspective, and a little humor to my sessions. I believe healing can be meaningful work without every conversation feeling heavy. I integrate Christian faith with evidence-based psychology to help clients recognize unhealthy patterns, strengthen relationships, and develop healthier ways of thinking and coping. I offer grace when life feels messy, practical tools for moving forward, and a reminder that you don't have to have it all together to get started. Sometimes we need to dig deep, sometimes we need a new perspective, and sometimes we just need to take a breath and remember we're human.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with adults navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, difficult life experiences, and seasons of transition. I have a special heart for those in ministry, missionaries, pastors, and especially pastors’ kids who know what it’s like to grow up in the church spotlight while still figuring out who they are outside of it. I also work with individuals navigating pregnancy or infant loss and the grief that comes with these experiences. My approach blends Christian faith with evidence-based psychology, offering a space where you can be honest, ask hard questions, process life’s messiness, and grow without feeling like you have to have it all together.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck and practice practical ways to respond to life’s challenges with greater confidence and clarity. My goal is to help you develop tools you can use outside of our sessions, so you feel better equipped to navigate difficult emotions, manage anxiety, and make meaningful changes. When desired, I can also incorporate Christian faith and biblical principles into this work.
