I am passionate about helping people deal with life challenges that cause them distress. My first goal is to help you identify what the problems are, how they impact relationships in your life, and what goals you want to work on to bring understanding, calm, peace, and joy back into your life. You are the expert in your life, and working together with me, I will challenge your thinking patterns to help you see alternative outcomes that align with the goals you are working toward.
I know that the first-time meeting with a therapist can be anxiety building, so my first goal is to make it as relaxing as possible. I will ask questions so I can understand what problems you are experiencing, so we are able to collaborate on goals you want to work on.
My primary approach is CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy); however, I also utilize IPT (interpersonal therapy) interventions, as I believe language is powerful and how we communicate impacts all relationships in our daily lives. I am trained in the following treatment Evidenced based practices and models: TF-CBT (trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy), IPT (interpersonal therapy), Brainspotting, Triple P (positive parenting program), and MAP (managing adaptive practices).
I work with you as an autonomous individual and in a way that empowers you to be the expert of your life.
The main population I have worked with are young adults to seniors, dealing with anxiety and depression issues related to relationship problems, communication problems in the home and work and life transition issues. I can work with children, but prefer 16 years of age and above. I will challenge your thinking and help you explore alternatives to how you view problems you bring to therapy for the purpose of helping you explore your options in finding resolve issues you bring to sessions. I can work with couples; however, I only accept cash paying clients at my rate set on my profile.

Victor was good. I think that we will be a good fit together. Im not sure if he was testing me before the meeting, he suggested we change the appointment time to an earlier time. It did not feel great, but once we got our meeting going at the appointed time, we had a wonderful session.

Just ended my first session with Victor. I caught a good vibe one of hope. I look forward to working with him.

I could only select two options above, but Dr Hernandez pretty much covers the entire spectrum. I couldn’t be happier with Dr Hernandez participating in my recovery and improvements in my daily life.
