About me

I’m Dr. Gabe Veas, a psychotherapist who helps high-achieving adults, and creatives move past shame, fear, and pressure to keep it all together. Many appear successful on paper yet feel disconnected, anxious, or unfulfilled inside. My work focuses on rebuilding intimacy, confidence, and freedom that lasts. My learning didn’t end with degrees; it continues through mentorship, embodiment, and years of helping people reclaim the parts of themselves that feel hidden or shut down. I founded Palm Springs Psychotherapy to offer a private, deeply personalized space for clients who want more than symptom relief. My approach blends cognitive, relational, and somatic methods to help you reconnect with what feels real and alive, both in your mind and in your body. If you’re ready to feel more connected and fully alive, let’s begin. This work is for people who are ready for real change, deeper relationships, sexual confidence, and a clearer sense of self.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is an opportunity for me to understand you, not just the problem that brought you to therapy. I will ask thoughtful questions about your history, relationships, identity, strengths, and what you want to change. My style is warm and conversational, but also direct. You can expect an open minded space where difficult subjects can be discussed without judgment, along with honest feedback about what I believe may help. Before we finish, we will begin identifying where you want to go and what our work together might look like.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a board-certified sexologist, former professor, mentor, executive, and clergy member, I offer therapy that is affirming, culturally responsive, and results-oriented. I was honored as the first Professor of Mentorship in the U.S., and I bring decades of experience helping people navigate identity, relationships, and purpose. I also support clients caring for animal companions, including end-of-life decisions and grief, alongside my therapy puppy, Cancun the Beloved Chihuahua. Whether you’re seeking clarity, healing, or growth, you don’t have to do it alone.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults who are ready to understand themselves more deeply and make meaningful changes in their lives. Many of my clients are navigating sexuality, identity, relationships, career changes, burnout, or major life transitions. I have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ communities and welcome clients exploring intimacy, sexual confidence, gender, masculinity, relationships, and their evolving sense of self. I especially enjoy working with people who are curious, open to being challenged, and ready to move beyond simply understanding a problem toward creating something different. You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. We can start with where you are.

My treatment methods

Narrative

I use Narrative Therapy to help clients reclaim authorship of their lives. Together, we explore the stories that shape your identity, challenging the ones that no longer serve you and amplifying those rooted in strength, healing, and possibility. With a culturally attuned and creative approach, I hold space for clients to reframe their narratives through conversation, metaphor, and expressive tools that align with who they are.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I incorporate Solution Focused Brief Therapy to help clients identify what’s working and build on their existing strengths. Rather than staying stuck in problems, we focus on your goals, your values, and the small steps that lead to meaningful change. This approach is empowering, future-oriented, and especially useful when you’re seeking clarity, motivation, or rapid progress in a specific area of your life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you notice the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, especially the patterns that keep you stuck. Together, we challenge unhelpful thinking, practice new ways of responding, and build skills you can use in real life, not just in session. My goal isn’t to “fix” you, but to help you feel more equipped, more aware, and more in control of your story as it unfolds.

Dr. Veas was very warm and accepting, inviting me to speak to what brings me to therapy and acknowledging that, although tough, my issues could be worked through. Through encouragement to speak about my problems, reassurance that I could work through them, and a promise that our sessions would not just be a "trauma dump," I feel capable of managing them in a way I hadn't before. He plans to give me actual tools to create a better future beyond just listening and feeling heard.
