I’m Dr. Gabe Veas, a psychotherapist who helps high-achieving adults, couples, and creatives move past shame, fear, and pressure to keep it all together. Many appear successful on paper yet feel disconnected, anxious, or unfulfilled inside. Our work focuses on rebuilding intimacy, confidence, and freedom that lasts. My learning didn’t end with degrees; it continues through mentorship, embodiment, and years of helping people reclaim the parts of themselves that feel hidden or shut down. I founded Palm Springs Psychotherapy to offer a private, deeply personalized space for clients who want more than symptom relief. My approach blends cognitive, relational, and somatic methods to help you reconnect with what feels real and alive, both in your mind and in your body. f you’re ready to feel more connected and fully alive, let’s begin with a private consultation. This work is for people who are ready for real change, deeper relationships, sexual confidence, and a clearer sense of self.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

For many of my clients, I was the first mental health professional they connected with voluntarily. I am confident that I can help you where you are and that you will have a supportive person in your corner as you take the initiative down this path. Therapy has played a central role in my life, and I will create a comfortable environment for you that will assist you from the start.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a board-certified sexologist, former professor, mentor, executive, and clergy member, I offer therapy that is affirming, culturally responsive, and results-oriented. I was honored as the first Professor of Mentorship in the U.S., and I bring decades of experience helping people navigate identity, relationships, and purpose. I also support clients caring for animal companions, including end-of-life decisions and grief, alongside my therapy puppy, Cancun the Beloved Chihuahua. Whether you’re seeking clarity, healing, or growth—you don’t have to do it alone.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Throughout my career, I have sought to be inclusive, most recently serving those from the trans, non-conforming, and intersex communities with the Trans Health & Wellness Center of Palm Springs. I also have experience working with Athletes, College Students & Academics, Creative Artists, Entrepreneurs, Gamers, Mentors & Coaches, and Couples in The Lifestyle. As a Mexican-American from Los Angeles, CA, I have experienced diversity in my life by developing relationships and learning from those from an array of social locations. I have also taught diversity, inclusion, & equity courses at several universities. I am looking forward to joining you on your mental health journey.

My treatment methods

Narrative

I use Narrative Therapy to help clients reclaim authorship of their lives. Together, we explore the stories that shape your identity—challenging the ones that no longer serve you and amplifying those rooted in strength, healing, and possibility. With a culturally attuned and creative approach, I hold space for clients to reframe their narratives through conversation, metaphor, and expressive tools that align with who they are.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I incorporate Solution Focused Brief Therapy to help clients identify what’s working and build on their existing strengths. Rather than staying stuck in problems, we focus on your goals, your values, and the small steps that lead to meaningful change. This approach is empowering, future-oriented, and especially useful when you’re seeking clarity, motivation, or rapid progress in a specific area of your life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you notice the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors—especially the patterns that keep you stuck. Together, we challenge unhelpful thinking, practice new ways of responding, and build skills you can use in real life, not just in session. My goal isn’t to “fix” you, but to help you feel more equipped, more aware, and more in control of your story as it unfolds.

I appreciate his directness. He also did a thorough intake with lots of questions to understand my history. He is very open minded.

Dr. Gabe Veas was a pleasure to talk to! Usually, the first appointment with a therapist is awkward, and it's hard to open up. But he made it very easy. He was direct without being abrasive, warm without being overly familiar, and brought in a good sense of humor. But he was also willing to challenge me when appropriate, and I appreciate his input.
