Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at UIC in 2002. I have worked in various settings, including schools, a health department, churches, and private practice. I enjoy bringing hope and change to individuals. My approach to counseling is to provide a strong therapeutic relationship tailored to your needs and goals in a safe, nonjudgmental, nurturing environment where healing can begin. I am passionate about working together to learn new tools for change when you feel overwhelmed, distressed, or stuck. I aim to create a caring environment that invites one to explore one's personal story and find healing. Therapy focuses on discussing past and current patterns and coping skills to help people gain greater self-awareness and the ability to solve problems more effectively in the future. When scheduling an appointment, we can look at other options because my availability is primarily in my private practice, and I have additional availability.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will take the time to get to know one another. I will work to understand what is bringing you into therapy and your hopes for our time together. We will determine a plan for follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I enjoy providing a therapeutic relationship that creates an atmosphere of safety for you to explore your challenges. I have received additional specialized training in narrative trauma therapy through The Allender Center at The Seattle School of Psychology and Theology.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with young adults through to adults who are in retirement.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I work with clients to gain an understanding of how they attach to others and rebuild trust in relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT to help identify and challenge inaccurate thinking and emotional responses to provide a healthier response. This will benefit those who are depressed and anxious.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT is effective with couples in gaining awareness of one's emotional and maladaptive responses that can be problematic in creating a secure bond with a partner.
