I am a LCSW in the state of Illinois and have been practicing for over 10 years. I have experience in the health care field, working with adults of all ages, understanding the aging process, and the many ways that grief appears in our lives. I am a certified grief counselor and help my clients to understand, normalize, and accept the grieving process as they work through these difficult feelings. My practice is focused on using a supportive and collaborative approach to help my clients find strength and resilience in their lives.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I like to get a sense of your background and why you wanted to start therapy. Knowing some information about your life and past experiences can help me to support you in the difficulties you are facing currently. This allows me to support you in future sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have worked in a variety of fields through my career and my work focuses on adults. I have worked with young adults during life transitions, adoptive families and hopeful adoptive families through the challenges of the adoption process, as well as older adults struggling with the aging process and end of life. I have a great deal of experience with the challenges of the healthcare system and the ways that these challenges can impact emotional health at all stages of life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My passion is working with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or grief. These feelings show up in a variety of situations across the lifespan and my goal is to help clients process and explore these feelings. Whether clients are experiencing anxiety related to life transitions or grief from the loss of a loved one, I am here to help.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT techniques to help clients process their feelings and reframe thoughts. The way we think and our inner dialouge often impacts how we feel. By learning to adjust our thoughts, we can change how we feel.

Grief Therapy

I believe that grief shows up in many areas in our lives. Grief therapy techniques can be helpful in a variety of situations that involve any type of loss - whether the loss is physical or emotional.

Supportive

I use a supportive approach in my practice to make sure that clients feel validated. When clients feel empathy from their therapist, it can lead to feelings of safety, trust and increased motivation in treatment.
