Jeffrey Wirth
First of all, I am a father and grandfather. The rest can be summed up, quite aptly, from my 3rd personality test of a similar kind. I am a “Healer.” A Healer personality has a high moral standard, believing in treating everyone fairly, equally, and with dignity. The Healer is introspective, sensitive, compassionate, and empathetic - and very approachable. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (1992). I have been a supervising and practicing psychotherapist ever since. I have provided therapeutic services utilizing several different modalities with CBT being most utilized.
First session
I would like for a prospective client to feel comfortable yet heard. They should feel that they are in the right place and with someone who understands their situation and can help - connected and hopeful.
Strengths
I have been a licensed practicing psychotherapist for over three decades. During which, I've been a clinical supervisor and provider. I spent fourteen years as the supervisor of three forensic programs in a locked facility. I spent 19 years doing DV counseling/training, all while seeing countless other folks. A session with me will be inviting, hopefully comforting, and completely interactive, with interventions galore.
Ideal clients
Except for those identified below, I have no ideal client. Although, there seems to be a need for therapists who can work with anxiety, depression - mild or sever, and anger related issues, as these are the problem areas I see over and over in daily life and on social media. When looking into therapy for help, it is the first step in building hope for a future and a courageous venture. Hope and a future orientation are what fuels successful treatment. Some, however, need guidance in achieving that first, which doesn't exclude them from success, it just may take a little longer.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
The way I operate, is to assist persons to uncover what is keeping them stuck - whatever that may be, including fear, anxiety, trauma, inability to manage their emotions, etc. As we journey through the process, we'll develop way to address the issues, as well as maladaptive ways of thinking or behaving.
