Hello! I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) (LCPC) (LPC) (LMHC) licensed in various states. I received my Masters from Avila University in Kansas City and have been practicing for over a decade.

I draw from concepts of cognitive behavioral therapy while incorporating an eclectic range of techniques, including internal family systems, somatic work, and gestalt therapy.

I have helped women struggling with life problems and aid them in regaining control over worry, panic, fear, or dread in order to become the best version of themselves.

First session

During our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you’re facing. This will help us create a plan tailored for you. The plan will be a guide to work through in follow-up sessions.

Strengths

Having several years of experience, I support individuals with empathy, validation, and understanding while offering direct and interactive feedback. My goal is to create a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions openly. My approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, where your voice, experiences, and goals guide our work together. I draw from concepts of cognitive behavioral therapy while incorporating an eclectic range of techniques, including internal family systems, somatic work, and gestalt therapy. This allows me to tailor our work to best meet your unique needs. I am here to support you on your journey toward feeling more empowered, balanced, and connected to yourself.

Ideal clients

I am best positioned to support individuals who are struggling with anxiety and feeling overwhelmed by persistent worry, self-doubt, or emotional distress. Many of my clients feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, such as overthinking, avoidance, people-pleasing, or difficulty managing daily stress. My approach is rooted in empathy, validation, and genuine understanding. I create a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where you can feel safe being fully yourself. In our work together, your feelings will be heard, respected, and gently explored with curiosity and care. I also provide direct and interactive feedback to help you build insight and create meaningful change. Together, we will unpack the patterns that may be holding you back, increasing your awareness and strengthening your ability to respond to challenges in new ways. My goal is to help you develop a more grounded and intentional life. Through our work, you will build a practical and personalized toolkit that supports your emotional well-being and day-to-day functioning. I offer professional support in a way that meets you where you are, so you can engage in this process wherever you feel most safe.

Treatment methods

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to support clients in exploring the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In our work together, we examine the beliefs and patterns that may contribute to life’s challenges, while honoring each person’s unique cultural background, identity, and lived experiences. I approach therapy with cultural humility, recognizing how social, historical, and systemic factors can shape thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT offers practical tools and strategies to help clients navigate difficulties, strengthen coping skills, and build resilience. My goal is to work collaboratively, empowering clients to develop insights and skills that align with their personal values, priorities, and goals. This approach allows therapy to be both reflective and actionable, creating a space where growth, understanding, and meaningful change can occur safely and respectfully.

Eclectic

I draw from a person-centered framework, which places your experiences, voice, and goals at the heart of therapy. From there, I integrate concepts from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help identify unhelpful thought patterns and develop practical coping strategies. I also incorporate an eclectic range of techniques, including internal family systems (IFS) to explore and harmonize different parts of yourself, somatic work to increase body awareness and release stored tension, and gestalt therapy to deepen present-moment awareness and personal insight. This integrative approach allows me to tailor therapy to your unique needs, combining evidence-based strategies with creative, experiential tools. My goal is to help you build self-awareness, resilience, and practical skills, empowering you to live a more balanced and intentional life in a safe and supportive environment.

We have only done the introduction but I am excited to see where things lead. Very engaged and encouraging. She was prepared with questions from multiple directions to get a feel for who I am. Die to her background I feel more confident about working with her and trusting her perspective.

LaToya is warm but direct. She listens actively and works with me to effectively problem-solve. I truly appreciate how she validates my progress when I am on track while gently pointing out perspectives or patterns I may have overlooked. Most importantly, I always feel genuinely heard and supported during our sessions. She creates a safe space where I feel consistently understood and empowered to continue my personal growth.
