Elysa Thangchaipinyokul
Hello, I'm Elysa Thangchaipinyokul, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) serving adults throughout California. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and have over 15 years of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, and life transitions. Raised in a first-generation immigrant family, I understand how culture, family dynamics, and life experiences can shape emotional well-being and relationships. I strive to provide a supportive, culturally responsive environment where clients feel understood, challenged, and empowered to grow.
I've worked in mental health for over 14 years in both outpatient and inpatient environments providing psychotherapy primarily to adults and older adults.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and compassionate. I believe therapy should feel like a safe space where you can be heard, gain insight, and develop practical tools to create meaningful change. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while tailoring treatment to your unique needs and goals. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for change, I'm here to support you every step of the way.
First session
During our initial session, I will provide a brief introduction about myself to help you feel comfortable and supported as we begin working together. I will also take time to learn more about your personal experiences, concerns, and the reasons that brought you to therapy. Together, we will explore your goals and create a collaborative treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and the progress you hope to achieve throughout your therapeutic journey.
Strengths
With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about helping clients create meaningful and lasting positive change while supporting personal growth and emotional healing. I believe that meaningful change comes from both insight and action. I strive to meet clients where they are, honoring their unique experiences, readiness, and goals while gently encouraging growth at a pace that feels manageable. I am naturally curious and often ask thoughtful, deeper questions that help uncover patterns, beliefs, and emotions that may be contributing to current challenges. Together, we work to build greater self-awareness, strengthen resilience, and develop healthier coping strategies so clients can navigate life's challenges with increased confidence and emotional well-being.
Ideal clients
I work with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and major life transitions. If you're feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or unsure of your next steps, you don't have to navigate it alone. Together, we'll create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can gain insight, build practical coping skills, and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
