I am passionate about the impact of spirituality in mental health therapy. As an attachment informed humanist LPCC, I consider the bio-psycho-social-spiritual/existential condition of the folks with whom I work. Healing is a matter of integrating the disparate and fragmented parts of life. Empathy, acceptance, positive regard, and genuineness are crucial elements for effective therapy and these are the characteristics I seek to cultivate in my practice. As far as a specific toolkit, CBT and Motivational Interviewing are the primary evidence based methodologies I employ to be with people in their self-paced, goal oriented healing efforts. Those who want to examine the angst, anxiety, disquiet, and friction in their lives will find a fellow traveler in me.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Safety and strong rapport are foundational to successful therapy. Our first session is the initial opportunity to establish a safe, effective, and healing relationship. My goal is be a empathetic, accepting, and a genuine presence. First sessions are all about getting to know you, what makes you who you are, what you want to work on, and how I can walk with you in the process.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Tough conversations and self reflection are difficult and can be like standing too close to a fire. I have learned how to do this effectively. By bringing the research and best practices of psychology to bare, I have been honored to be present for dozens of healing journeys.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Not everyone is going to feel at home within their culture and wider society. I work well with folks who are questioning the norms around them, who find themselves regretting the past or worried about a very uncertain future, who are forming their identity, and those struggling with meaning, purpose, and motivation. Folks trying to integrate past trauma into a healthy future are a joy to work with. I welcome anyone who wants to stop and reflect.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My theory of personality is Existential/Humanistic. This informs my work and how I understand psychotherapy. CBT is the means by which I address mental health struggles in my practice of psychotherapy.

Existential

Spirituality is a often overlooked dimension of our lives. Spiritually informed care is a crucial part of my practice.
